Selling your car to the government is becoming more common in a public auction setting. The sale can be used as a way to pay off debt to agencies like the Internal Revenue Service. There is usually some sort of ten percent fee or higher that a state government might charge you in order to have them take it off your hands. The fees can only go up as you ask for other services such as the detailing of your vehicle for example. Given these facts unless you want the government to take a large chunk of your profits, it is recommended that you do all of the preparation before you go down this route to sell your car instead of requesting their assistance.
